Indirectly, the French president again spoke in favor of insulting Islam.
French President Emmanuel Macron has again spoken out against insulting the Prophet in the name of freedom of speech. He says France will not change its policy on freedom of speech because of the crisis abroad. He was referring to widespread protests and demonstrations in the Muslim world over the insult to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
In response to the killing of a teacher after a satirical cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was shown in a school classroom, Macron said that insulting Islam in France would not stop. Protests against Emmanuel Macron then spread throughout the Muslim world and are still taking place in various countries. Meanwhile, Macron reiterated his earlier statement.
In France, Shirley Ebdo magazine has published several satirical cartoons insulting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). They are calling it freedom of speech. Of course, speaking out against the Holocaust is no longer freedom of speech. Legal action was taken. However, Muslims around the world have made it clear that insults to the world's holiest person, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), will not be tolerated.
