Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has died.

Israeli media has reported that the Islamic Republic of Iran's highest religious leader has died! Israel claims he died about a week ago today. However, Israeli media reported that Iran was hiding the matter.

According to the Israeli media (The Jewish Press), Iran is hiding this news because it is in a dilemma as to who will be the next religious leader in Iran. According to the report, Khamenei wanted to see Khamenei's son Mustafa as the next religious leader. Moreover, he is also in the choice of the Islamic revolutionary forces. However, some of Iran's leading scholars have opposed it. They want to see the current president Hassan Rouhani as the next religious leader.

To become Iran's most religious leader, he must be a member of Shia Islam. But there are also big posts for Sunnis. Most Sunnis in Iran want to see Khamenei's son Mustafa as the next religious leader.

However, some senior Shia scholars have taken a stand against it. There is a lot of tension in Iran's politics as it has not been decided who will be the next religious leader.
